Guide

Why it matters

People now ask questions not only on Google but also in AI assistants like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. If their crawlers can't reach your site, your brand can't be cited in their answers.

What we check

Whether robots.txt allows GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended and other AI crawlers; your llms.txt file; title, description, canonical and language tags; Schema.org structured data; and whether the page arrives as server-rendered text.

What this test doesn't show

Access is a prerequisite for visibility, not the whole story. To appear in AI answers your content must be clear, current and quotable, and your brand should be mentioned by other trusted sources.

Frequently asked questions

What is GEO?

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is the work of making sure your brand appears accurately, and as a source, in answers from generative search systems like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI overviews.

Is it safe to allow AI crawlers?

Google already reads your public pages. Allowing AI crawlers lets the same content be used in AI answers too. You can still block private areas (admin, cart, member pages) in robots.txt.

Is llms.txt required?

No. It isn't a standard yet and not every AI tool reads it. But it presents your site's summary and key pages in one file, so it's an easy, harmless step.

Do you store the results?

No. The address you enter is only used for the check and is not stored.
